Every Monday at 8PM for nearly 6 years, myself and MsKia Star have successfully filled a void that's missing on NY radio with Sugatreats. We broadcast music and artists from across the world that commercial radio fail to recognize, or add to their restricted play list. In many instances we have even "world premiered" music and artists on our show, and helped push them to the next level.

In 2009, Sugatreats is still one of the most unique FM radio shows based in New York heard around the world, thanks to the Internet.

Our station WHCR 90.3 FM, will be moving into a new studio shortly. This will allow for some great changes and additions for Sugatreats. With this change, for the very first time I need to ask for your support in the form of donations and contributions.

The fundraising goal for Sugatreats is a very modest one. We want to raise - $1,200

This amount of $1,200 is simply being used to offset operating costs for WHCR.
Printers need ink, computers and broadcast equipment often need repairs due to heavy usage, and as you know even electricity costs.

We know we have regular listeners worldwide. If we can get at least $1 from 1,000 of our listeners, I will put in the additional $200.00, enabling us to reach our fundraising goal!

For those who may not have known, WHCR is a listener supported community radio station. None of your donations, or contributions go into our pockets - even if we manage to surpass our goal.

All donations and contributions are tax deductible, and again are used to simply help maintain the facilities at WHCR.

Sugatreats is a reason to listen to radio again. Myself and MsKia Star will continue to break new artists, spin new music AND have thought provoking topics, but we need your help!

Dear Helen,

Currently I only have eight dogs but one is expecting puppies and I am very excited by this. I am hoping for a litter of at least ten as this is the number required to participate in dog sled racing.

I have read every Jack London novel in preparation and have constructed my own sled from timber I borrowed from the construction site across the road during the night. I have devised a plan which I feel will ensure me taking first place in the next national dog sled championships.

For the first year of the puppies life I intend to say the word mush then chase them violently around the apartment while yelling and hitting saucepan lids together. I have estimated that the soundproofing of my apartment should block out at least sixty percent of the noise and the dogs will learn to associate the word mush with great fear so when I yell it on race day, the panic and released adrenaline will spur them on to being winners.

I am so confident of this being a foolproof plan that I intend to sell all my furniture the day before the race and bet the proceeds on coming first place.

No. I have a goldfish but due to the air conditioner in my apartment being stuck on a constant two degrees celcius, the water in its bowl is iced over and he has not moved for a while so I do not think he is capable of disturbing the neighbours.
